About the role

We are seeking an experienced ESG Manager with a strong focus on managing the ESG data in APAC and ESG strategies to join our dynamic team. As an ESG Manager you will be working with the management team closely across the APAC.

  • ESG Strategy and Policy Oversight:
    • Lead the overall ESG setup, strategy, and implementation for Igloo end-to-end as POC for external stakeholders like the BOD and certification authorities

    • Prepare a comprehensive ESG strategy (policies & procedures), establish the baseline of Igloos current ESG status, identify goals and action plans to get there - track and share updates internally and to external stakeholders (e.g. the BOD/customers/employees)

    • Ensure alignment with ESG disclosure requirements and best practices.

    • Identify potential challenges and proactively manage them to ensure on-time and quality deliverables.

    • Lead external audits and certification processes (e.g. for the Client Protection Pathway or Principles for Sustainable Insurance)

  • Risk Management and Compliance Assurance:
    • Develop and manage plans to reduce and manage ESG risks and environmental impacts.

    • Monitor the effectiveness of the implementation of the ESG management system (Policies, Process, Procedures, and Guides) and update them in line with changes in laws, regulations, and corporate directives.

    • Review corporate activities and ensure compliance with ESG Policies, Management Plans, and Procedures.

    • Track actions taken by the company to minimize ESG risks and environmental impacts.

  • Reporting and Communication:
    • Attend meetings and report to management, shareholders, and the Board of Directors on ESG progress and performance.

    • Conduct analysis and review ESG data to identify trends and risks.

    • Lead the annual ESG data preparation process, encompassing information and data gathering, content development, and external assurance.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Address concerns from stakeholders and others on ESG issues.

    • Manage communication with stakeholders on ESG issues.

  • Market Research and Professional Development:
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to determine ESG factors affecting business activity.

    • Participate in ESG-related conferences, seminars, and other professional events.

  • Resource Management:
    • Manage ESG budgets and resources and related expenses.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Legal, Finance, Business, Management or other technical / science-based education

  • Min. 10 years work experience in the sustainability field, preferably working in both consulting and a corporate environment in a variety of sustainability-related matters impacting multinational corporations

  • At least 3 years of experience conducting assurance of sustainability/ESG/financial reports in tech/fintech/insurance firms or similar organization and/or supporting companies to improve ESG reporting internal control environments

  • Proven experience of successfully preparing ESG reports and responses to ESG rating agencies and rankings.

  • Working experience in managing ESG data collection and reporting processes. Good attention to quality and details and solid analytical skills.

  • Excellent project management skills and an ability to manage multiple complex projects and diverse stakeholders

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to support the accurate provision of ESG information to external stakeholders, other languages an asset

  • Some public policy and external communications experience would be beneficial

  • Strong interpersonal and an ability to work with senior stakeholders and leaders, build rapport across functional boundaries as well as people of diverse backgrounds
