Job Description

Role Purpose

The Coordinator, Communications & Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility will support the EVP and Senior Director in the development and execution of strategic communications plans to amplify NBCUniversal’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programming to internal and external audiences. The person in this role will help identify and execute written and video-based storytelling opportunities that showcase how NBCUniversal is supporting the communities where we live and work. This role will also support our marketing and communications efforts across other CSR programming, including PSA and cause-marketing campaigns.

The candidate should have demonstrated excellence in strategic communications including writing, editing, multi-platform content creation, and campaign or project management to ensure we are leveraging various mediums for the most effective results. This role will be based in New York, NY.

Job Duties

  • Identify external opportunities for NBCUniversal to showcase CSR programming including conferences, speaking engagements, and other thought-leadership opportunities, plus story pitching in partnership with the Corporate Communications team
  • Draft external- and internal-facing communications supporting NBCUnites, our volunteering and social impact programming, including partner and employee profiles, press releases, etc.
  • Support development and execution of NBCUniversal’s longstanding and award-winning PSA campaign, The More You Know, including: brainstorming and researching topic ideas, supporting talent relations, staying up to date on social media trends to inform management of the brand’s social accounts, pulling data reports, and managing program’s website
  • Provide marketing and communications support for Local Impact Grants (NBCU’s annual grantmaking program) and the Creative Impact Lab (NBCU’s storytelling give-back initiative), including: social media management, identifying storytelling opportunities and communications channels, publishing information to company websites, and drafting email communications
  • Manage and edit multi-media content on digital platforms including NBCUniversal.com, company intranet, and employee giving portal; oversee CSR photo and video content capture and archive
  • Maintain database of CSR industry awards; identify application opportunities and manage entire process from submission through announcement
  • Assist team when needed to research, brainstorm, or draft copy for ad-hoc CSR-related marketing and communications requests or inquiries

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or other related field from an accredited university
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or public relations in a corporate environment and/or the nonprofit sector
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or other design or photo editing software

  • Heavy interest in CSR, with a passion for giving back to communities

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
